Angular Conversion Project
The Angular Conversion Project is a re-engineering of the Canada Revenue Agency’s secure portals, consisting of My Account, My Business Account, and Represent a Client.
Ongoing usability tests were conducted using thoroughly developed interactive prototypes, and the results from testing were analyzed by the UX team. This allowed our team to determine next steps in improving the designs, functionality, and usability.
After testing was completed, wireframes were designed to meet all business requirements while respecting the design guidelines that were pre-defined.
Usability Testing for My Account
As leader of the Usability Testing process for My Account, I was responsible for managing the tasks and progress of our usability tests. My team and I shared many roles, but I took on the responsibility as the main point of contact between our team and any external teams assisting us with the process.
Tasks & Process
Responsible for writing actionable usability testing tasks by giving the user context and stating a clearly defined goal for them to complete. The tasks were written in a way that does not reveal too much information about the correct path, allowing us to asses the user’s instinctive path when completing the task.
Created interactive prototypes in Axure RP 8 while following previously designed mock-ups. To replicate a fully functional website, the prototypes included interactive input boxes, dynamic panels, and linked pages.
Prepared and executed usability tests using TryMyUI. The results form these tests were recorded, analyzed, and compared to previous results. Our team watched recordings for each user, and took notes on their behaviour, responses, and frustrations when attempting to complete each task.
When all usability tests were complete, I put together a finalized report containing data from the tests, analyses, recommendations, and a priority list of aspects to be addressed.
